Karen's first ride
Karen has always had a love of animals.  Her Uncle Eddie and Aunt Rose ran a farm in Hudson NH and Karen would
spend summers there helping out.  Her first horse was a wooden horse named Soapy!  Every year when asked what
she wanted for her birthday or Christmas she would always ask for a horse.  She had to wait until she was an adult
and supporting herself to finally get that long awaited horse of her own.  Since that original Arabian mare named Kalila
(Lila) she has shared her life with 5 additional Arabian mares, Ararafa, Manuka, Kayboti, Jewel, and Zyla and Itty Bit,
a miniature horse whose little girl had outgrown him.  You can read his story in Tales From Falmac Farm.  Karen has
also given homes to numerous cats and the best dog in the world, Patricia Lillian Farm Dog (aka Lilly).

Karen has also always loved to read.  Her motivation for writing is to try to instill in children a love of animals and help
them discover the joy of reading and learning.
